Vintage Cars in the store: Porsche 911 Carrera WTL Cabriolet (1987)

Some cars have lived a hard life.
Others have been treated gently, as if time stood still.
This Porsche belongs to the latter category. Delivered new in May 1987, with only 5,880 kilometers on the clock and one single owner since new, it is as close to a factory-fresh 80s 911 as one can get.
Turbo-look with presence
At first glance, the silhouette is recognizable – but something reveals that this is not an ordinary Carrera.
It is WTL, Werks Turbo Look – the wide-track, confident version that borrows its attitude from the 930 Turbo, but without the turbo itself. The flared fenders, air intakes in the rear fenders, and the pronounced proportions give the car a presence that is hard to ignore. The deep black finish, combined with a black soft top, is timeless and self-evident – elegant, yet with authority.
This is 80s Porsche design at its best: hand-drawn, muscular, and meaningful in every line.
Did you know…? Only a few were delivered as cabriolets, making this particular example extremely rare and sought after among collectors.
An interior from another time
Open the door – and you step straight into 1987.
A time when mobile phones weighed a kilo, the stock market was a rollercoaster, and Gordon Gekko was a style icon.
The black leather interior is original, in incredible condition – no cracks, no patina, nothing compromised.
Everything feels like new. There are no screens, no filters – just an analog world where the driver and the car communicate directly with each other. Under the hood, a air-cooled flat-six producing 231 horsepower works, paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Every gear provides feedback, every throttle response has a tone.
This is a Porsche experience preserved in its original packaging.
A Unique Swedish Example
The car was delivered new via V.A.G. Stockholm on May 8, 1987, and has since been cared for as a collector's item.
Everything is preserved – from the soft top to the upholstery, from labeling to documentation.
Several details indicate that the car was ordered through Porsche Exclusive (Sonderwunsch) – the program where customers could customize their own 911.
The equipment confirms this: Turbo Look body, electronic soft top, air conditioning, tinted windshield, original alarm, and upgraded battery.
Today, there are few cars on the Swedish market that combine such low mileage, documented ownership, and untouched originality.

Our Summary
It is rare to find cars that truly deserve to be called collectibles – but this one undoubtedly does. It is not restored, not updated, not improved – just preserved. It tells the story of the 1980s Porsche era: about design, engineering, and passion before computers took over.
For the collector, it is a piece of automotive history in untouched form.
For the driver – a chance to feel how a 911 truly was when it was new.
